Geography: Create a Country Recipe (Exploring Characteristics of a Country)

Students will have fun with this high-level, fun thinking activity. This lesson is a wonderful introduction activity. This will encourage students to explore the characteristics that define a nation: economics, culture, government, religion, etc. This is best used as a beginning-of-the-year activity to understand the concept of what a nation is. Students will work in groups to create a "Country Recipe" of a country/nation based upon its economic, political, and cultural characteristics. The outcome?
