Students work on expanding a kernel sentence by answering when, where, why and how, appositives, expanded noun groups, and adverbials of manner, time and place, one skill a week, with Week 5 revising all four. The same calm routine every day: an explicit lesson with worked examples on Monday, guided and independent practice, an apply day linked to your science or HASS unit, and a Friday revision of the previous week's skill.
