Beehive Counting Mats 11–20
By Mrs. Agusta Teaching Resources

Beehive counting mats 11–20 for kindergarten and Pre-K! This hands-on math center helps students practice teen numbers, counting to 20, number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, quantity building, and numeral matching with a sunny beehive and busy bees. Students count the honeycombs at the bottom of each mat and place the matching number of bees in the hive. They can also use the numbered beehive mats to build quantities, or match numbered bees to the beehive with the same numeral. It’s a natural next step for students who have mastered counting to 10, and a way to build confidence with larger numbers. What’s Included -Counting mats with honeycombs (11–20): one beehive mat for every number, with a honeycomb counting area at the bottom -Numbered beehive mats (11–20): the same mats with no counting prompt -Printable bee manipulatives -Numbered bee cards (11–20): for numeral matching -Color and black-and-white versions of every page -Teacher directions: a “How to Use” page with prep tips and activity ideas A cover page and license page Ways to Use -Count & Grow: count the honeycombs below the beehive and place the matching number of bees in the hive. -Number to Quantity: use the beehive mats without the honeycombs and place the matching number of bees in the hive. -Number Matching: match each numbered bee to the beehive with the same numeral. -Fly into the hive: laminate or mount the mat on cardstock and carefully cut along the beehive opening so students can slide the bees
