AI and Homework

By Graphene - Digital Life Lessons

This AI and homework lesson plan helps grades 7–12 students explore academic integrity, AI use, homework, learning, fairness, cheating, responsible AI use, and classroom expectations. Students are already using AI for homework, so this digital literacy and AI literacy lesson focuses on the more useful question: when does AI support learning, and when does it cross a line? Students analyze realistic AI homework scenarios, compare different perspectives, and reflect on choices students may already be making. This resource helps students think critically about AI, cheating, learning, fairness, and responsible tool use without turning the lesson into a lecture or a trap. This is a low-prep, structured discussion lesson designed to help students think clearly, not tell them what to think. It treats students as capable of nuance and gives teachers a classroom-ready way to discuss AI use honestly, safely, and practically. Check my blogpost that dives a bit deeper. Useful for digital literacy, AI literacy, advisory, homeroom, media literacy, technology class, life skills, SEL, counseling, or any lesson on AI and academic integrity. This activity is part of the AI, Technology and the Future bundle — a set of 6 activities covering how AI works, evaluating AI-generated content, deepfakes, AI and jobs, and AI bias and fairness. 📦What’s included: • Teacher guide with timing, prep notes, facilitation tips, differentiation, and guidance for a non-gotcha AI discussion • Optional projectable
