Gladiator Arena Escape Room
By Micah's Learning Resources

A digital escape room for an ancient Rome unit. Students are gladiators locked under the Colosseum with ten minutes on the clock. Each trial they solve unlocks the next, and the fifth wins their freedom. What's Included: - One escape room file that runs in any web browser, with no logins and no installs - 5 locked trials that open one at a time, each checked the moment students answer - A 10 minute countdown and a progress bar for the trials completed - 3 Oracle hints per game for teams that get stuck - A victory screen that shows how long the class took The Five Trials: - Trial I, Roman Numerals: read the number on the Colosseum gates - Trial II, Latin Legacy: use the roots aqua, terra, sol and luna to decode English words - Trial III, Life in Rome: name the Roman invention that carried water into cities - Trial IV, The Emperors: match Julius Caesar and Augustus to the months named after them - Trial V, Final Challenge: convert the year the Colosseum was finished from Roman numerals How to Use: Open the file on a projector for a whole class race, or share it through Google Classroom or any LMS so pairs work on their own devices. A wrong answer says try again and keeps the trial open, so students learn from a miss without losing their place. The whole room runs inside 10 minutes, so it fits an opener, a review day or an early finisher slot.
