AI Jobs & Future of Work
By Graphene - Digital Life Lessons

This AI jobs and future of work lesson plan helps grades 7–12 students explore careers, automation, workplace change, future-ready skills, AI literacy, career readiness, and the future of work. Today’s students will spend most of their working lives in a world shaped by AI, and that deserves discussion without panic, false reassurance, or vague “robots will take our jobs” headlines. Students analyze how different jobs may change, compare what AI can do with what humans still do better, and reflect on the skills that may matter most in an AI-shaped workplace. This resource helps students think critically about AI, jobs, automation, career planning, adaptability, and future-ready skills in a grounded and practical way. This is a low-prep, structured discussion lesson designed to help students think clearly, not tell them what to think. It avoids both AI hype and AI fear, giving teachers a classroom-ready way to discuss work, uncertainty, and preparation. Check my blogpost that dives a bit deeper. Useful for digital literacy, AI literacy, career readiness, careers class, advisory, SEL, media literacy, technology class, counseling, future-readiness units, or any lesson on AI and the future of work.
