Large Alphabet Letter Cards Making Words Phonics Activity Free Upper/Lowercase
By Mrs. Magee | First Grade Brain

Make phonics and spelling practice interactive with these large alphabet letter cards! Each letter fills an 8.5 x 11-inch page, making the cards easy for students to see during whole-group and small-group activities. This free alphabet resource includes all 26 uppercase and lowercase letters, plus an additional special “e” card that can be used when practicing silent-e words. Use these full-page alphabet cards for: • Making Words activities • Phonics and spelling practice • Sight word practice • Word-building activities • Whole-group literacy lessons • Interactive spelling games One of my favorite ways to use the cards is to give one letter to each student and call out a word. Students holding the letters needed to spell the word come to the front of the room and arrange themselves in the correct order. It's a fun way to get students moving while practicing phonics, spelling, and word-building skills! What's Included: • 26 uppercase letter cards • 26 lowercase letter cards • Additional silent-e card • Full-page 8.5 x 11-inch format Printing Tips: For extra durability, print the alphabet cards on cardstock and laminate them for repeated classroom use. When printing, select Fit to Page/Fit in your printer settings to prevent the page borders from being cut off. Print multiple letters to a page if you need them smaller! Tip: Laminate the special silent-e card back-to-back with the regular lowercase e so you can easily flip between the two during Making Words activities. ••••••••
