Last Day Bandit
By Ready Steady Games

The End-of-Year Trophy has been stolen! Three witnesses have come forward with information about how it happened. There's just one problem. Their statements were recorded as voice-to-text messages, and all the formatting has been stripped away. Capitals, punctuation, apostrophes: gone. Students must correct all three witness statements before the investigation can move forward. Each level reveals a little more about how the Last Day Bandit pulled off the theft — right up to the shocking final line that changes everything. Every student in the room works on the same investigation. Each one works at the right level for them. The Three Clearance Levels: Level 1: Junior Detective Foundational skills. Students rewrite a voice-to-text message recorded during Field Day using correct capital letters and periods. Level 2: Lead Detective Developing skills. Students apply all Level 1 skills plus commas and apostrophes to correct a hall duty teacher's statement — including a suspicious detail that will matter later. Level 3: Chief Inspector Advanced application. Students tackle introductory phrases, apostrophes, and plural possessives to correct the school secretary's statement and piece together exactly how the trophy went missing. Final Task: Fast finishers and above-grade-level students go beyond editing to analyze the witness statements, make inferences about the Bandit's motives, and write their next steps as the investigating officer. No extra prep required! It's built right in. Sk
